Caro Lab awarded UPR COVID-19 Emergency Grant

We are happy to announce we have been awarded a grant through UPR Central Administration to work on COVID-19 research. Our project aims to redirect our natural product and drug discovery experience to probe the chemical components of marine algae and other marine organisms unique to Puerto Rico’s natural resources to describe antiviral leads towards COVID-19 drug development. This research project is in collaboration with Dr. Ian Tietjen and Dr. Troy Messick at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia.
