Lessons From Plants Lab Retreat

Our research group carried out its Annual Lab Retreat this past weekend themed around the book LESSONS FROM PLANTS from Beronda Montgomery.

We set intentions with a permission slip format from Daring Classrooms (Brené Brown), discussed each chapter in detail, shared meals, played games, watched the documentary THE BOTANY OF DESIRE, and even painted plants as part of a self-relfection exercise. We learned a lot about plants and what they can teach us, and how to apply that knowledge to our personal and professional lives, as well as our approach to scientific activities.
