VICTORIA

Victoria M. Casimir Montán is an undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus majoring in chemistry. Her academic goals are to pursue a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry or Pharmacognosy and work in the cosmetic industry, formulating cosmetics with natural products. As part of the Caro Research Group and the ASP SRF (American Society of Pharmacognosy Summer Research Fellowship) she has been working on the isolation of marine natural products to study their SARS-CoV-2 antiviral properties. When you can’t find her in the lab, she’s looking for new places to visit and foods to try in Puerto Rico.
