ÁNGEL D. HERNÁNDEZ-MEJÍAS

 Ángel was an undergraduate student at the UPR-Rio Piedras majoring in Chemistry. He is a member of MARC (Maximizing Access to Research Careers), which is a program for students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in the Biomedical Sciences. As part of this program, he participated several times at ABRCMS Conference, where he presented his summer research projects. In addition, he presented oral presentations on his previous work at the JTM/PRISM. In Dr. Caro’s lab, he worked on the synthesis of cyanobacterial natural product analogues with applications to pancreatic cancer.

After receiving a NSF GRFP Fellowship, Angel is now pursuing a Ph.D. at California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA.
